I sampled random Lofter fanfics too—since fanfic writing is looser, AI rates were often under 10%. When I tested texts I suspected were AI-generated, detection rates hit 83.4%, and with other clues, it’s reasonable to conclude the author used LLMs without disclosure.

Apps I've cut from the list Plenty of Fish (removed January 2025): POF went through a rebrand recently, and honestly, I'm not impressed. My latest tests showed they got rid of key features like free messaging for non-matches, and I kept running into the same old profiles. At the end of the day, it just doesn't offer anything special that other apps aren't already doing better, so it's off the list.
